Bristol's floating harbour was created with the help of Isambard Kingdom Brunel. Its design is based on a locked gate system which traps and holds water in the central harbour, enabling the boats to stay permanently afloat and avoid the effects of the tide. Bristol's Clifton suspension bridge was also designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel, and has subsequently grown to be an iconic landmark that visitors to Bristol should see. It is a beautiful bridge which sits high above the Avon River , spanning the cliffs of the ancient Avon Gorge, offering spectacular views over the gorge and the city beyond. It is particularly beautiful at night when it is lit up.

Bristol is a really popular place for nights out, it has a exciting club scene with a great selection of designer bars, public houses, nightclubs and restaurants. Trip-hop is ablend of hip hop and electronica which evolved in Bristol in the early 1990's and is still popular on the music scene today.
